Sweda Camel Cigarettes promotional tank watch, circa 1993
Anthony’s watch story begins where a lot of modern ones do: with an Apple Watch and the feeling that there had to be something better suited to life in the shop. The Camel tank became the perfect entry point—Cartier-adjacent in shape, but playful enough to feel entirely his own.
He found it deep in the eBay rabbit hole, drawn in by the familiar tank proportions and the irreverence of the Camel branding. It carries the clean geometry he loved about the Cartier Tank, but with just enough humor to keep it from feeling too serious. That balance feels very Anthony.
The real payoff, though, is the joke. Whenever someone asks him for the time, he gets to deadpan, It’s time for a cigarette. His partner rolls her eyes every time, which only seems to make him enjoy it more. On shop days it disappears naturally under a navy blazer sleeve, and on warmer South Bay afternoons it still makes sense with a crewneck and linen shorts.
If he had to sum it up in a few words: Baby’s first watch—you know what time it is.
